:: Ballet Class / Inspired by the works of Edgar Degas ::

On the occasion of the exhibition The Complete Sculptures of Edgar Degas at the Herakleidon Museum in Athens a piano recital entitled Ballet Class was created.

The piano program is inspired by ballet classes. Ballet classes consist of a series of ballet exercises which follow one another in specific rotations. The music selected to accompany the kinesiology and the style of each exercise-choreography is chosen according to rhythmic, metrical and aesthetic criteria, so that the music itself can assist and encourage the dancers to perfect the movements which they work on.

To this end,well-known piano works of the romantic period frequently chosen for such purpose, are selected among others. Works by F. Chopin, F. Schuman, E. Satie, C. Debussy.
